Usability of e-government services: the case of citizens within the age range 55-70.
Summary:
Two tasks were performed by 17 Greek older adults using an e-government webpage, while voice and mouse movement were being recorded. The collected data were qualitative and quantitative in nature. More precisely, we collected and analyzed completion time for each stage of each task, success rate, and number of errors occurred. Moreover utterances produced during the execution were analyzed using the Thematic Qualitative Analysis methodology in order to conclude to distinct categories, and then analyze them quantitatively. The errors were processed and analyzed using the same methodology and we made an attempt to estimate the mental models that generated them. The scope of this study was to document the pitfalls the active older adults face during completing their tasks in digital citizen services, and possibly hopefully to design thinking.
