Childhood in the Greek theater for children and cinema in the post-war period (1945-1974)

This present work is the study of the conditions of childhood in the postwar period, 1945-1974 in Greece, through the image and the sound of cinemas and theatrical plays. The subject of work is the analysis of phenomena of childhood such as poverty, social exclusion, child labor, education and also the cultural inequalities associated with cinema and the seasonal theater. The child is part of the social and economic conditions of the era and carries out elements of the social changes that characterize the Greek society and the period that we are examining. Audiovisual, photography, television and cinematography is considered to be a particularly important means of obtaining information and data relating to social reality. Social scientists are no longer sufficient to study social structures but also seek to hear the reason subject. The child through the art of cinema and the theater provides a delightful rest for nostalgia, searching for poor childhood innocence, an opportunity to formulate particular questions, a willing way to criticize authoritarian education, family, the social system, an attempt to new history reading and avoiding community responses.
