ABSTRACT
In this research becomes an attempt to identify and measure the degree of job satisfaction of employees employed as nurses in two psychiatric hospitals. We investigated the individual dimensions of job satisfaction as the nature of work, the agency's operating procedures, direct supervision, recognition of professional consistency, assessment, opportunities for advancement, financial rewards, the level of cooperation, communication between partners and the degree of impact on shaping the overall satisfaction. Also studied the degree of influence of demographic factors such as: age, sex, marital status, education level and experience of employees in each of the individual dimensions of job satisfaction. The survey involved a total of 182 nurses and assistant nurses working in two psychiatric hospitals in Athens. The survey was conducted during the period of June to September 2017 and was used in the questionnaire of job satisfaction JSS "Job Satisfaction Survey" of Paul E. Spector. According to this survey 17.1% are satisfied with the work. Sex, educational level and postgraduate qualifications show how positively associated with job satisfaction, while the other demographic factors studied, age, marital status, years of service and liability position does not seem to correlate significantly with work satisfaction. The literature search was performed in PubMed database using the keywords: «satisfaction of mental Nurses», «statistics and numerical data», «degree of satisfaction of mental nurse», «Health Information Management», «Total Quality Management». Search related articles published in English until October 2017.
