Summary:
ABSTRACT
The present study pertains to the academic and administrative structure and organization of the University of Bologna. In particular, it presents a brief historical overview from the foundation of the university to date, the central administrative bodies with their respective tasks, the Departments, the Schools, other academic and educational structures and their administrative organization, the administrative services of the University with its organizational chart, the legal status of its academic and technical-administrative staff. The study of the Statute and the Regulations, which govern it, brought to light information about efforts to reform its organizational structure, with the main objective of ensuring higher levels of effectiveness and efficiency to improve competitiveness in national and international level. The University of Bologna is making efforts to adapt to the demands of the era, the society and the knowledge economy, by promoting research, excellence, evaluation, internationalization, following the rules of transparency, objectivity, equal opportunities, extroversion. The University of Bologna is not only the oldest in the Western world, as it is considered, but also the University that was changed most and renewed over time and continues to do so.
