This study refers to the letters written by Leon of Synada (letters 1-25) and Nikephoros Ouranos (letters 1-25), as well as to the similarities and differences between their work. From the content of their letters, the language they use and the motifs, we are informed about the prevailing conditions at that time, the persons the two epistolographers were in contact with, their educational level, as well as the perceptions that existed during the 10th century.
