Summary:
The following thesis aims to study and analyze sectors of the Greek economy individually during the crises period with official published data. Furthermore, we study the results of the crises on the levels of employment while comparing them with other European countries in addition to the levels of tertiary education. Regarding the above, we manage to find the way in order to study the Brain Drain phenomenon which is the main part of this study. We begin the third part with the theoretical analysis and afterwards we focus to the situation that our country faces the recent years. The reader will find tables of qualitative features from other sampling researches, subsequently, we present the results of my personal research while combining data from two different official governmental sources in order to reach to an estimation about the size of this loss of scientific workforce. The fourth part, tries to calculate the governmental cost of educating this workforce that finally decides to work abroad. Finally the last part, is constituted by the conclusion and the policy proposals in order to moderate the problem.
