The scope of the thesis is to analyze how the ne bis in idem principle is dealt with at national, European and international level in case of cumulative imposition of administrative and criminal penalties for the same infringement with extensive reference to recent national and foreign case - law advances. In parallel, it is attempted to examine the application of this principle within the context of competition law in order to combat anti-competitive practices.
