Comorbidity of renal failure and lung cancer

Background: The patients with kidney disease have multiple morbidities. In
this paper I will study the comorbidity of renal failure and lung cancer.
Method: Study of patients who, either had kidney disease and developed
lung cancer, or originated from oncology hospitals and developed renal failure
resulting in the need for hospitalization at a renal clinic and hemodialysis unit.
Results: A description of the cases hospitalized at the Nephrology Clinic of
the General Public Hospital of Nikaia, Piraeus and General Hospital of Athens
“Sotiria” during the last five years 2012-2017 from the moment of their admission
to their discharge.
Conclusions: Lung cancer co-morbidity and renal insufficiency is not something
that is common, probably because both diseases have a high mortality
rate.
