Summary:
Quality of life came into focus among many things in the early 1900s. Environment and its preservation, high standards in human health and good nutrition ,all these world environmental concerns became paramount. Already in 1924 with Steiner the basics of organic farming had been set. In 1976, the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) is established internationally, its role being widened as we speak. The fundamental rules governing organic farming are examined, as well all basic rules governing ways of organic farming being smoothly integrated as part of a general ‘natural’ farming ecosystem.
Our effort is focused for the last and most part on the expansion of organic farming in Europe and in Greece in particular. The body of people taking into account the recent shift in their attitude regarding ecological, environmental and organic matters is analyzed. An effort to evaluate the sensitization of the target body (high school and University students and above) will be made using a questionnaire . Analyses of the positive or negative results will be incorporated to make possible future teaching and self improving plans in all levels. Since this is obviously a long term process, we expect this to become a lengthy but for sure a fruitful development. These analyses and the resulting developments are set to well exceed the length of our program; In fact it is expected by the nature of it that many aspects of such analyses will resonate in the following decades, giving to the field of organic farming a bright future.
