UpsideDown Classroom: the application of blended learning using flipped classroom methologies to forth and sixth grafe of elementary school students
Τhis thesis explores the use of the blended learning method; specifically the flipped classroom model, to elementary students. To achieve this goal a teaching scenario based on the physical sciences was developed and a digital classroom was created as well as a series of video lessons. The scenario was created according to the principles of 'the flipped classroom' model and addresses pupils of the forth and the sixth grade of elementary school. The purpose of this research was to reach to a conclusion about the age group that is the most appropriate to participate in a flipped classroom lesson. The analysis of the data focuses on the following criterias: a) the pupils' cognitive patterns after their participation in a flipped classroom lesson; b) the behavior that the students had during their participation; c) the experiences that the students gained after taking part in the flipped classroom lesson, according to their own testimonies.
