The Intertemporal Progress of the City State in Greece from Ancient Times to the Present Day
Summary:
The development of the city over the centuries has made significant changes, both urban and architectural. Every change that was made also reflected the different conditions that prevailed at each time and the needs to be met. This is the reason why in different areas of Greece the cities developed in a way that is appropriate to the natural landscape. However, the development of cities has made all possible changes in both social and cultural contexts. The buildings and the forms of the cities expressed aesthetic choices and cultures, as well as religious tendencies and worldviews. That it covered people's needs, intellectual, mental and material was expressed in the formation of the city. Some changes have been respected and are now is a reminder of history through their survival over time. Some others were destroyed as a result of the new changes and the standards they had imposed. The history of the city included everything: destruction, beauty, equality, injustice. However, moving towards a new era, it was realized that the city must follow new standards in order to develop and solve the problems that human history and mankind created. Smart cities today are called upon to solve the problems that people themselves have created while exploiting in a positive and sustainable way the development of technology driven by the mistakes of the past. So while cities learn to become a global community through the internet at the same time they are urged to invest in older modes of transport to solve the problems that vehicle transport has created. Standards and practices exist after they have been successfully applied worldwide and are now models and sources of inspiration for Greek cities as well.
