The role of good faith in marine insurance
Summary:
The principle of good faith constitutes a principle of fundamental importance for the law of marine insurance and for insurance law as well. The principle of good faith imposes separate obligations to the parties of a marine insurance contract, namely the insurer and the insured. These obligations concern the stage before the contract of marine insurance is concluded and after. This dissertation analyses these separate obligations imposed to the parties, which arise from the principle of the good faith, and at the same time a comparison is made between the duty of good faith of the Greek insurance law and the duty of utmost good faith of the English law of marine insurance.
