Τεχνικές σωματικού θεάτρου σε παραστάσεις για ανήλικους θεατές - Η οπτική της πρόσληψης. Η περίπτωση των θεατρικών ομάδων Patari Project και Hippo
Translated title:
Physical theater techniques in performances for underage viewers - The perspective of reception. The case of the "Patari Project" and "Hippo" theater groups
Summary:
In the search for ways to effectively address childhood needs, theatrical groups active in the theater for the younger audience choose to use the techniques of physical theater, against the prevailing directorial choices based on exaggeration and impressiveness.
We conducted a case study using the work of the “Patari Project” and “Hippo” theatre groups, in order to investigate the benefits that may arise through the reception of physical theatre performances by the younger viewer.
The research was based on the following sources: In international and Greek bibliography, interviews and publications, interviews given to the researcher, show programs and a small survey using primary school pupils as subjects, who were asked to answer questionnaires after watching specific performances. Drawings of children inspired by the performances were also used.
After a brief reference to theoretical elements, we will present the profile of the theatrical groups we are exploring and the way in which they create their performances. Afterwards, physical theater will be considered as a communication event and finally its reception by the minor recipient will be investigated from a pedagogical, psychological and artistic point of view.
