Design and development of a web application for charging patients with healthcare consumables and stock monitoring

The purpose of the present study was the design and development of an electronic system, in order to manage the medical consumables, within the context of a public hospital department. The primary objectives of the system are precise recording and automated charges for supplies per patient, with simultaneous monitoring in real time of the relevant department stores as well as the central warehouse. For the purpose of the study, a web application was developed using web technologies and programming languages as PHP, Javascript, HTML, CSS and jQuery. The web application was built using the Laravel programming environment, following the MVC architectural model, and relied on XAMPP open source software to create a MySQL database and install the Apache server.
