Problems with unsolicited commercial communication
Summary:
The purpose of this diploma thesis is to study the phenomenon of unsolicited commercial communication, known as "spamming". In particular, by incorporating this practice to the general right to be left alone, in the real and vitual world, the regulation of this phenomenon is presented, at both european and national level. The special provisions create a strict framework of obligations, the violation of which results in a sequence of legal consequences and the creation of restorative claims, as means of defending of the recipients of such communication. Finally, a comrehensive study of this phenomenon could not be concluded without reference to the international legislative regime, governing the matter under considration. All these observations contribute to some colcluding thoughts, not only in a critical level, but as well in a level of suggestions to address the prroblems that arise.
