Summary:
The present thesis deals with the issue of consent to processing of personal data under the light of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation EU 2016/679) and the problems raised by the new framework that will be in force in May of 2018. The present thesis aims to compare the existing regime of Greek Law No. 4272/1997 with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 highlighting the similarities and the differences. Moreover, an attempt is made to interpret the meaning of "consent to processing of data" with the tools of civil law and to include it in τηε Civil Law despite all the particularities presented.
