Teaching of Rhetoric and Literature: Teaching suggestions for debates in the Literature lesson for Junior High School
Summary:
The present dissertation brings out the central points of the teaching of Rhetoric to students. In order to apply the theory, there has been an indicative selection of some literary texts from the text books of Modern Greek Literature of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade of Junior High School. More specifically, for the application of this theory, some teaching suggestions are made which concern debates that can take place among students over intertemporal or current subjects which arise through literary texts. We believe that the inclusion of rhetorical activities which favour the debate among the students during the Literature lesson in the three grades of Junior High School is particularly beneficial for each student. For this reason, we recommend that each professor should dedicate some of the time of the Literature lesson so as the students can get involved with such activities.
