The exploitation regime of pleasure yachts: Part B: Maritime Law Issues
Summary:
The present thesis is a study of the legal regime of yachting and specifically the liability regime of the use of yachts, namely contract liability or liability resulting from an accident at sea. As far as contract (charter) liability is concerned, both MYBA and HYBA form regulations are analyzed, along with the relevant provisions of greek law. Furthermore, it is examined which regulations of greek and international law are applied in case of an accident at Sea, by making also specific reference to all the provisions of International Conventions such as MLC, that are impracticable to apply to yachts due to their size. Last but not least, there is a specific mention to the insurance of yachts, both under greek and English law.
