Summary:
In recent years, there has been a great interest for research in the field of parental acceptance-rejection. A few surveys have been conducted in the greek population, while international studies highlight the relationship between parental acceptance-rejection and relationship profile. However, the mediating role of early maladaptive schemas between parental acceptance-rejection and relationship profile is a research field with not so much presence in literature. In this master thesis we try to check if parental acceptance-rejection affects the relationship profile through the mediating effect of early maladaptive schemas. 18-25 years old students from Universities and Technological Institutes of Greece participate in the survey. Data was collected using self-referencing questionnaires, which measured remembered parental acceptance-rejection, early maladaptive schemas and relationship profile. PROCESS program was used to study the relationship between variables. Mediation analysis has shown that there is a mediating effect of early maladaptive schemas on the relationship between parental rejection and relationship profile.
