Applying an eft stress management program
Summary:
This research has shown that those who participated in it are at a young age, with no commitments and many obligations, with relatively good health. It has been noticed that the better the quality of health, the less stress they express while the smooth relationship with the family and the existence of leisure time are key factors in reducing stress. The Eft seminars encouraged women to gain more trust and confidence, which made them feel that their health is mostly determined by themselves, rather than by other unpredictable or external factors. People with higher stress level reported worse health quality, while compared with the control group scores before EFT there was a significant reduction in stress in the team which followed this method.

The results of this paper are in line with the study data demonstrating that EFT actually leads to a reduced perception of pain, increased acceptance, ability to cope and quality of life associated with health in people with fibromyalgia. It has also a direct effect on specific phobias related to anxiety and depression, psychological trauma and PTSD as well as trauma after coronary artery disease (Brattberg et al., 2008; Swingle etal, 2008). What’s interesting to take into consideration is the study of Bougea et al., (2013) in which some patients suffering from headache were chosen randomly. It has been observed that after participating the EFT seminars, both the frequency and the intensity of the pain were decreased significantly while the remaining symptoms were improved greatly (p < .001; Bougeaet al., 2013). Long-term exposure to stress increases the risk for a variety of health problems, while poor relationships and negative emotions weaken the immune system by increasing inflammatory responses (Weik 2008; Fang 2008). Freeing the human body from negative feelings gives it the opportunity to self-heal because, as mentioned before, negative emotions deactivate the immune system, and they also mislead it to consider as enemies different parts or organs of the body, as well as to attack and create all the inflammations and autoimmune diseases mentioned above. EFT programs are a strategy of self-improvement and can change the way of thinking as well as dealing with unpleasant situations such as pain, phobias with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life.
