Summary:
The main purpose of the present thesis is to explore the contribution of Art in Adult Education as well as to transform technical knowledge into a teaching subject by creating relevant digital material. It is a clearly complex issue to inspect, having a number of variables and considerable obstacles, since Art itself develops knowledge, skills and attitudes at both social and personal level. The initial inspiration for the particular research subject arose at the postgraduate experiential workshop regarding the influence of World War I on artists of the era. At the same time, this thesis is the result of a wider necessity to examine the matter in question, aiming at further study on the potential use of the aforementioned digital material in distance learning programs. The research method used is qualitative analysis of the data collected through semi-structured interviews. The research sample consisted of the experiential workshop participants, while the workshop’s conclusions substantially confirmed the relevant bibliography’s claims.
