Summary:
The aim of this study was to explore the knowledge and perception of primary and secondary education teachers regarding the support of children with dyslexia in the classroom. 130 teachers participated in this research, 67 from the primary and 63 from the secondary education fields. Questionnaires were the tool used in this quantitative research. The primary conclusion of this study revealed that most of the teachers are aware of the nature of dyslexia and agree with most of the statements of the 8 factors of the research tool concerning the support of children with dyslexia in the classroom. This finding reveals that they generally know how to assist and support children with dyslexia. As far as the comparison between primary and secondary education teachers is concerned, it is worth noting that no significant deviations were observed among primary and secondary education teachers with regards to their knowledge and perceptions.
