Investigation of any relationship of reduction ofemployee equivalent remuneration in relation to the change of cost hospital treatment today.
Summary:
Aim: This paper examines the search for a correlation between the reduction in the earnings of EOPYΥ insured persons and the change in the cost οf hospital care during the financial crisis in Greece.

Methodology - Sample study: In order to search for correlation, we studied the case of the Action University General Hospital, where quality standards are already in place and an integrated Information System is also in operation. Patient statistics and hospitalization costs were sought, with an emphasis on the one-day imports of EΟPYY insured persons covering the period 2008-2017 and an extensive questionnaire with open and closed questions was used. The questionnaire was studied and completed by 120 people (hospitalized patients in PGN Action) through a procedure that ensured the anonymity and protection of the participants' personal data. In order to study the results and to draw conclusions, a statistical analysis of the questionnaires was made using SPSS.

Results: The sample consisted of 120 individuals, 73 (60.8%) women and 47 (39.2%) men, aged 18-65 years. The participants responded to open and closed-ended questions and the results are represented in the form of diagrams.

Conclusions: There is a link between the reduction in wages and the change in the cost of hospitalization in the sample in question, but this does not entail a corresponding increase in the amount finally received by the hospital for hospital treatment. Further research is needed to examine the cost of hospitalization in relation to other economic, social and geographical factors in a larger sample. The weakness of the study is the reduced number of participants.
