Summary:
The purpose of this work is to investigate the constructive strategies used to construct the moral leader, and in particular Dr Tram. Basic concepts for research are those of ethics and rhetoric. Aristotle interprets rhetoric in terms of persuasion. It is important that each leader can use speech and rhetorical techniques in a way that can guide his audience. To this end, the framework and transport have a significant presence. Ethos plays important role in this. From a philosophical point of view, morality determines what is right and what is wrong, from a rhetorical point of view, it is interpreted as the credibility of the orator. Ethos reflects the habits and accepted practices used within a particular social group. These practices determine, while at the same time differentiating it, from others. It is not easy to clarify ethos and so various studies have been made and various typologies have been constructed with characteristics of morality. The most representative for the purposes of this paper is that of McCroskey.
The methodology used was mixed. For the sake of greater understanding and clarity, the qualitative analysis process combined with the quantitative approach was chosen. The chosen sample was the talks of Trab, both pre-election televised with C. Clinton and post-election in four speeches. His articles on Twitter were also examined. The main research question was: what are the rhetorical strategies that build the ethos of the leader. In order to answer this question, we differentiated the results based on the time of the examination and the communication format being considered. It became apparent that the main strategy used was that of aligning with American citizens and American values.
