Summary:
The present thesis refers to the exploitation of digital narration for the advancement of emotional intelligence and empathy of A class (junior) grammar school students. In particular, we try to investigate ways of managing children’s anger with the use of digital narration as a tool.
Basically it suggests an innovative teaching method that exploits narration in combination with ICT. It is our aim to contribute to the general concern on how to use narration for the benefit of educational process.
The sample consists of 13 children (5 girls and 8 boys) all students of A class (junior) grammar school. The sample worked on two phases. The first was filling in two questionnaires (the first about using ICT and the second a calibrated asset for anger).
The second phase concerned the educational intervention – project and the process of producing digital narrations about anger following the seven steps of digital narration. Our research focused both on the content of digital narrations and their answers to the questionnaires.
All in all the conclusions of the above study are presented and some proposals are made on digital narrations. It is our belief that it can become a suitable method of teaching and improving emotional intelligence based on the researches which focus on its exploitation on teaching methods.
