Summary:
The aim of this dissertation is the investigation of the development of hospital information systems in Greece. The hospital information systems described are the systems of the military hospitals (e.g. FILIPPOS, OXYGEN, APOLLO), as well as those of public civil hospitals (e.g. HELIOS, YGEIA-2000, e-AIMA, EKAB, DILOS, SIZEYXIS). More information is included with regard to the hospital information systems ASCLEPIOS and Medilab, which are used in the public hospital “Elena – Venizelou”.
The method used is the review of the literature in order to be able to present the pros and cons of the hospital information systems involved.
