Determination of selenium and arsenic in liquid industrial waste by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry and Hydride Generation
Summary:
The scope of the thesis is to determine the concentration of arsenic (As) and selenium (Se) in liquid industrial waste by using Atomic Absorption Spectrometry with Hydride Generation (HG-AAS) is used. The method has been fully optimized through validation process, in addition to estimating the uncertainties of arsenic (As) and selenium (Se) concentration on three levels.
Finally, the results of the experimental measurements are compared with bibliographic references, concerning the Relative Standard Deviation (RSD), the Limits of Detection (LoD) and the Limits of Quantification (LoQ) for both As and Se. The results were satisfactory as the primary desired target, the development/ optimization of the method was achieved.
