The connection between stress vulnerability and alcohol addiction
Summary:
The effect of alcohol on the human body shows similarities to those of various sedative drugs such as benzodiazepines and barbiturates, and can even lead to deep coma and death. Because of the minimum molecular weight of alcohol it has the ability to easily pass through cell membranes and body fluids and tissues. Within a one-hour time period the amount of alcohol is equal to all tissues. Based on these theoretical parameters, recent literature and research studies, which show how alcohol affects the human body, we will try to examine the correlation between alcohol over consumption and stress.
