Digital RF Receivers: Analysis and Simulation
Summary:
Designing a Digital RF Receiver is a very challenging procedure, which can be approached and described from different points of view. It includes the simultaneous work of various teams of engineers that must cooperate in an appropriate framework, so that the production workflow of the receiver, that includes designing, lab verification and prototyping, is actually cost and time efficient. This procedure is boosted when it is performed and simulated from the system – level and block behavioral – level point of view. At the same time, the characteristics of RF signals and systems should be taken into account, to find the right balance between simulation time and modeling fidelity. In this thesis, the basic concepts that are associated with the analog RF part of the Receiver will be analyzed. Also, a System – level and Block/Behavioral – level simulator will be presented.
