Parents' attitudes regarding vaccination coverage of children in Thessaloniki
Summary:
Vaccination of children is a controversial issue today. The development of more and more vaccines has led to a larger number of vaccines that children have to take at an early age, and in this context, parents are asked to decide whether to give their children all the necessary vaccines.
The aim of this work is therefore to investigate parents' knowledge, attitudes and attitudes towards the vaccination coverage of their children. For this purpose, a sample of 94 parents with at least one child was collected and visited a private center in Thessaloniki. According to the results, the majority of the sample vaccinated their children with all the necessary vaccines, while a small percentage decided not to vaccinate their children or to omit some of the vaccines.
Overall, therefore, it is clear that there are several concerns among parents about whether or not to vaccinate their children with the necessary vaccines that are part of the national immunization program in Greece, but most parents ultimately decide to follow the instructions of the specialists
