Summary:
The current work attempts to approach the concept of Total Quality Management and its application in the field of education.
The first chapter illustrates an analysis of Total Quality Management. It approaches its philosophy, culture, principles and its basic features. In addition, the concept of quality, as well as the importance of overall quality is presented, highlighting the importance of the working group, the role of the leader and how it can infuse the philosophy of Total Quality Management into its human personnel. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of communication and dissemination of knowledge within the organization, as well as the differences between traditional administration and the relatively recent management model, trying to underline the importance of Total Quality Management. Moreover, a historical review investigates the roots of the management model illustrated in this work in order to get a complete picture. At the end of the chapter, a connection with Human Resource Management is attempted in a broader sense, underlining the importance of the coexistence of both, as well as their interrelated relationship.
The second chapter attempts an approach to the field of education, analyzing the concept of quality and highlighting the role of Total Quality Management in educational organizations, accommodating the particular needs of the delicate field of education.

In the third chapter surveys undergone in schools are presented, which examine whether and to what extent Total Quality Management is applied, by submitting proposals for the future application of the model to educational organizations.
