The Application of the Formative Assessment in the Chemistry course in the First grafe of High School
Summary:
In this thesis we study the implementation of the Formative Assessment at the Greek School and specifically the way in which the teachers make it, in the Chemistry course in the first grade of the Lyceum.
Specifically, we perform a bibliographic analysis of the concept of the Formative Evaluation, the various extensions that govern that kind of assessment of the pupil and the way the Ministry of Education dictates its implementation in the lyceum. We then conduct a survey, using a questionnaire of thirty questions, to sample eighty chemistry teachers in the 1st grade of the Lyceum, in order to get a direct picture of how the Formative Assessment is carried out in the day-to-day conditions of the school. Then we analyze the results we received from the answers and in addition we also include the data we received from oral interviews that took place with Chemistry teachers who teach in the 1st Lyceum, in order to add quality qualities to our research. Finally, we draw conclusions from the above analysis of our sample responses and also make some suggestions for corrective actions in the field of Chemistry Assessment in Lyceum and develop research on a larger scale
