Summary:
Renewable energy sources such as wind and solar energy are naturally variable, require the use of information systems to predict supply and demand levels as well as the overall management of the electricity system and the electricity market
This study examines the environment of the Hellenic sector, assessing the challenges arising from the large scale integration of renewable energy into the system, and analyzing the proposal for the solution of the challenges of the Hellenic system.
In addition, we present the state-of-the-art solutions that include data mining, machine learning and statistical methods for cleaning, transforming, modeling and extracting useful information from large, complex data sets to address similar challenges. As well, a framework of future trends in artificial intelligence for the Hellenic system is proposed.
