Summary:
Intermittent fasting is a new dietary intervention with a large volume of published research, articles, experiments. Its basic idea is the long abstinence from feeding. In the context of various fasting protocols (time restricted, alternative fasting, periodic fasting, fasting, Ramadan), alternative daily fasting has earned most supporters because it is the most easily applicable.
Intermittent fasting in any form appears to offer benefits to various diseases and pathological conditions such as e.g. cardiovascular diseases, arterial pressure, obesity, metabolic syndromes, diabetes, high cholesterol and triglycerides, inflammation, cancer. At the same time it enhances the reduction of aging and cerebral dysfunction indicators.
