Inflation targeting policies and economic growth: A case study on Great Britain
Summary:
The monetarist model of economic management and the resulting policies are now, for many countries, the basis for configuring and implementing economic policy. In this context, low and controlled inflation is a key condition, through the implementation of policies to achieve and maintain target inflation. The purpose of this paper is the theoretical and empirical assessment of inflation targeting (IT) policies. In particular, the work focuses on the UK case by assessing - through an Ols analysis - the impact of IT policies on economic growth.
