Summary:
This work investigates the relationship of psychic passion verbs of the ancient Greek language with the basic emotions according to the model of the psychologist Gerrod Parrott (2001) in the text of the Greek tragedy "Medea" to find universal features and diachronic elements in emotions and especially in ancient Greek emotions. This study contributes to the overall effort of the Greek language description and understanding of the meanings of the ancient world. In the context of the research were furthermore used the mood (enclisis) of verbs in order to aid the decoding of emotions, while gender was also studied compared with the expression of emotion. The findings of the survey were further analyzed based on the theories of emotion, communication and interpersonal relationships in the context of the effort to prove the correlation of emotion with human behavior.
