Summary:
Abstract

The impact of the financial crisis and the upcoming difficulties that we have experienced as citizens and as professionals in recent years, have left their mark on our daily routine, values, principles and on our culture. At the same time, organizations that expand their business, thanks to the dynamism of the human factor, represent a living cell of society, are called upon to confront an unequal battle with the new reality, full of challenges, changes, opportunities. As a result, organizations, in their efforts to maintain their position on the market, appear flexible, innovative and adaptable to the demands of the new economy.
As is perceived, the complex and highly competitive business environment needs to be inspired by moral integrity, transparency, equality in line with international standards and ethics. At the same time, the burst of business scandals that have come to light has raised a variety of questions as to the nature of the entrepreneurs we need as a whole.
Furthermore, an important role in achieving business excellence is played by the social face of companies through awareness and respect towards the environment and their fellow human beings. Those businesses that operate with these principles will build trust relationships, ensure the loyalty of their internal and external customers and enhance their reputation.
The aim of this essay is to study the actions of enterprises - organizations, regarding the existence or not of moral integrity, on the basis of all their transactions, to investigate the relations of interdependence of the interior with their external environment and the practices used to adopt and manage the changes that inevitably make their appearance, making their field of action uncertain and unstable.
Moreover, in order to answer the aforementioned research questions, which triggered the research for the writing of the present work, the knowledge derived from the application of the Athonian Management model, in the form of a case study, alternatively, the way of viewing modern business on the part of the monastic administration is approached.
In closing, this original model of administration, with a continuous millenary presence on Mount Athos, was chosen as a model because it approached everything on a man-based basis, and because of this it has begun to conquer the business world and as it transpires from the early stages of its implementation, can promote the business and redefine the limits of the personal and transactional ethics of individuals who work as top managers.
