Musical neuropedagogy in FLE context: Phonetic and orthoepic acquisition by a project pedagogy
Summary:
The standard teachings rely mainly on grammar, conjugation and vocabulary skills to the detriment of so-called secondary subjects, such as music education. The teaching of the latter in FLE context is often summed up as a simple learning support allowing an approach to French culture, at best the acquisition of a new vocabulary. However, the teaching of music relies on cognitive springs much more complex than that of memory. From the transcription of signals by auditory areas, psycho-affective effects, brain development, motivation in learning strategies or phonetic acquisition of a foreign language, music enables students to learn and to build in a much more complex way. In recent decades, research in neuroscience has opened the field to many discoveries and to a better understanding of the interest of music in the teaching of a foreign language by evaluating the interaction of the latter on our brain through brain imaging. This academic work will consist of putting a musical project in a college in Athens to a successful audience. The goal is to evaluate two specific skills related to learning FLE: phonetic acquisition and orthoepic competence.
