Summary:
At the present academic paper there will be made an attempt to indicate the dynamics, the perspectives and the limits of the iranian effort to influence the energy balances in the geografical system of the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. In the struggle for geopolitical dominion in the unstable sector of the planet, as it is otherwise known this geografical area, are acting not only regional but also global powers. Object of this essay is to focus on the geopolitical benefits and assets in the welter of the national inetrests and rivalries of the various geopolitical actors across the wider area of the Middle East, as they attempt to control the crucial energy factors in the region. Secondly, the essay aims to indicate how the different components of iranian power in the geografical subsystem of the Middle East could extend to the geografical subsystem of the Eastern Mediterranean Sea and consequently influence the dynamics of the energy balances in this vital, for the national interests of the geopolitical actors of Greece and Cyprus, region.
