Factors in police families that effect negative on their duty

Introduction – background : The current thesis studied the family environment as a negative factor for the police officers.
Aim : Using research, several family factors were identified and associated negatively for the police occupation.
Methodology : The research used the method of literature review through published articles, studies, journals and internet sites.
Results : Several family factors were indentified, such as financial problems, spousal disputes, death in the family, divorce which they were related to stress, depression and
suicide attempts.
Conclusions : Law enforcement occupations have a lot of activities with high rates of stress and tension. Working shifts causes problems with family time and family activities. There is a statistical association between family problems and suicide attempts.
