Summary:
This diploma thesis constitutes an effort of implementation the sectoral analysis about a
part of the medical device industry. More specifically, this branch of the industry is the supply
of research and diagnostic equipment.
The purpose of this dissertation is to study its two main activities, to capture the financial
status of the sub-branch and its viability. In addition, the research focuses on examining the
five competing forces of the sub-branch.
The methodological approach used was the qualitative analysis through secondary
elements and events that influenced the sub-branch, the qualitative analysis of primary
elements through structured interviews with top managers, in order to examine the data more
thoroughly. In order to complete this diploma thesis, a statistical analysis was used, using
quantitative secondary data (financial statements), with the creation of grouped financial
statements and the critical investigation of the financial indicators for the conclusions.
Finally, based on the above, a series of conclusions reflecting the prospects of the sub
branch in Greece, some points for possible future research and annexes, where the tables and
the questionnaire answered by the companies are presented.
