Managing oral history collections: from rescue to promotion. The case study of the collection of recorded oral testimonies of the Second World War of the Museum of Cretan Ethnology, in Vori, Crete

The title of current dissertation is "Managing oral history collections: from rescue to promotion. The case study of the collection of recorded oral testimonies of the Second World War of the Museum of Cretan Ethnology, in Vori, Crete". This study takes place in the framework of the postgraduate program "Museum Studies" of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. This dissertation is concerned with how museums organizations, which have a remarkable collection of oral history, have to manage this collection. The current study focuses on the collection of taped tapes with oral testimonies from the Second World War on Crete. The importance of the collection is also highlighted by international organizations, such as UNESCO, which has highlighted the collection as a National Monument.
