Summary:
The subject of this thesis is the legal treatment of smuggling by the Greek national law as a criminal and administrative offense and its dimension regarding the approach of the ECtHR as far as it concerns its nature and punishment, reflected in the relevant convictions for Greece. In particular, the present study attempts to examine from the theoretical standpoint of human rights and their protection the question of the autonomy in our internal legal system of the administrative and criminal proceedings in customs duty and tax disputes.
