Translated title:
Adjustment in Greek of BAS 3 math achievement scales for children 6-8 years old
Summary:
This research is part of a wider research effort for the translation and adaptation from English to Greek of BAS3 (British Ability Scales).BAS 3 is a well-established, English-weighted tool that provides a comprehensible and flexible way of assessing different aspects of current cognitive function and academic achievement of children from the age of 3 to 17 and 11 months. In the present work, the results of the adaptation of BAS3 to a sample of primary school pupils, A and B, will be presented in respect to the internal reliability and validity criteria of the tool. Mathematics is a scientific field with direct applications and unlimited extensions to people's everyday lives, but also philosophically connected to the evolution of human thought. Assessment of students' progress is particularly important for their personal and academic career as well as for the education system and the provision of the best possible services.
