Correlation between diabetes and neoplastic disease in patients with chronic kidney disease
Summary:
Chronic Kidney Deficiency (CKD), Diabetes Mellitus and Cancer are serious diseas-es that are increasingly affecting an increasing number of people on daily basis. The relationship between Diabetes Mellitus and Cancer with their underlying mechanisms is not entirely unknown and has been the subject of several studies, although there are still numerous unanswered questions. On the other hand, the existence of diabe-tes mellitus can in turn, lead to the development of some form of kidney failure and vice versa. Equally important is the investigation of the relationship between the ap-pearance of neoplasms and impaired renal function which, although some studies indicate significant evidence of an association, still needs to be thoroughly investigat-ed and documented.

Based on this, the purpose of this paper is to collect data from hemodialysis patients suffering from Chronic Kidney Deficiency and Diabetes Mellitus at the same time and in the course of their disease presented with some form of cancer in order to com-pare them with the results of relevant investigations.

This research is a primary qualitative research. The collection of patients' data was made in hospitals on the basis of the simultaneous existence of chronic kidney failure and diabetes mellitus, as well as the appearance of neoplasms. An electronic bibliog-raphy was used in the Pubmed database. In conclusion, some similarities have been found regarding the incidence of certain

cancers from the sample collected on other past researches. However, the complexity of the issue needs further investigation.
