Summary:
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by an increase in blood sugar (hyperglycemia) and a glucose metabolism disorder, either as a result of complete/diminished insulin secretion or because of a decrease in the sensitivity of body cells to insulin. Lack may be complete or partial. 3 are the main types of diabetes, type 1 or juvenile, type 2 and pregnancy diabetes. Although Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease that is not cured, there are several ways of managing it so that the patient can avoid serious complications such as diabetic nephropathy, heart disease, strokes and vision problems.
Diet is a basic pillar of sugar regulation support for people with diabetes, always combined with appropriate medication and exercise.
The purpose of this work is to create an on-line structure (website) that will be a nutrition guide for people suffering from diabetes mellitus and will offer them nutritional advice.
The method to be followed for creating (designing and constructing) the site is analyzing user requirements that include searching for the appropriate articles and other content, designing the structure of the site and finally, using Joomla software to create websites.
Informing patients with the ulterior goal of adopting "new" dietary habits that will help regulate their sugar level is the expected outcome of this dissertation.
