Translated title:
Moral responsibility and blame: "guidance control" and "reactive attitudes"
Summary:
Τhis paper addresses the abstract and controversial concept of moral responsibility and the expressions of praise and blame that accompany this notion. As a first step, the grounds of moral responsibility are sought in a compatibilist account by analyzing the conditions and constraints imposed by it. In contrast, the notion of moral responsibility is approached in the light of the reactive attitudes by focusing mainly on the interpersonal nature of blame. Finally, with a brief digression concerning the status of individual agency, in particular the preference of a normative conception of the above notion, an attempt is made to explore the necessary conditions that ensure the appropriateness of expressions of praise or blame towards others.
