Aelius Aristides' Political Ideas
Summary:
The aim of this paper is to study the political ideas of Aristides, as they are expressed in his main political discourses. Furthermore, autobiographical information from his Hieroi Logoi is useful in forming a comprehensive picture of his political philosophy and his attitude towards the Roman Empire. But beyond what he explicitly expresses, hints as well as all those that strangely are not mentioned by the orator, will be studied.
