Summary:
A qualitative research attempt on the beliefs of high school students about equivalence in mathematical proof. Developing a theoretical framework for the concept of equivalence regarding the presence of common sense and the concept of equivalence, as is known in the mathematics science. Bibliographic connection for equivalence through interdisciplinary translation studies and bibliographic emphasis on the strong presence of linguistics in this interdisciplinary project. Linking equivalence and mathematical proof, as well as a bibliographic reference to students' beliefs about the concept of translation and transfer. Methodology that is ontologically and epistemologically based on the constructivist perceptual outline. The phenomenological research approach adopted is based on the semi-structured interview method, as well as on the collection of responses, through a closed-ended questionnaire. Data analysis is based on content analysis, through specific bibliographic research tools.
