Summary:
Greece is faced with natural disaster every summer and in particular forest disasters that cause significant environmental, economic and social impacts. In order to deal with these disasters, EU aid mechanisms have been set up to address them. Main purpose of this work is to study the mechanisms for dealing with forest fires by EU.Thus, by studying the mechanisms developed to prevent and deal with forest fires, their application to forests fires in Peloponnhso is highlighted in 2007. The ultimate aim is to draw conclusions about the deficiencies of the mechanisms and their improvement until today.
